Problems loading gcars.dol to Cube...
Having a bit of trouble... I made my character, entered the random serial #, access key and password and I drag and drop gcars.dol into PSUL.exe. It says "Waiting for connection." I click Yes and Yes on my PSO and the vortex shows up, but instead some screen shows up that says I need to buy a Hunter's Licence and it tells me to press start, bringing me back to the title screen. The PSUL.exe remains unchanged. I have the non-plus edition of Phantasy Star Online, and Verizon Wireless DSL. For my Network Connection, I inputted this: IP Address: 192.168.1.101 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.1 Any help? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

In PSO, change the DNS server address to your PC's address. That should make it work.

It didn't work. It may be the ethernet cables I'm using. It lets me go online into their website to buy a Hunter's License, but does that mean it will let me load dol's?

Try setting both the default gateway and DNS server addresses to your PC's address. If that doesn't work, post all the network settings on your PC and GC here.

I got a lot closer to connecting this time. Instead of telling me to buy a Hunter's License, it stayed at the "Connecting to DNS Server..." screen for about a minute and then it shows "ERROR 101" and says something about failure to connect and server may be on maintenance. Nothing changed in the PSUL.exe though. Here are my Network Settings: PSO: IP Address: 192.168.1.101 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.45 Primary DNS: 192.168.1.45 PC: IP Address: 192.168.1.45 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1 DNS Servers: 192.168.1.1

Are you using PSO Plus or Ep3? If you're using either of those, see the topic titled "How to connect with PSO Plus/Ep3 using 2 network cards". If you're NOT using PSO Plus or Ep3, check your network cables and check to make sure that any firewall software or hardware is not blocking the connection.

I'm using the non-plus edition. I'll check if I have any firewall on though. EDIT: Fixed my problem! It seems I had an Internet Firewall on. If ANYONE wants to play me, hit me up on AIM or MSN. AIM: MiStrSmAsH MSN: kevinphet@hotmail.com And just wondering, is double posting frowned upon here?

It actually makes my life easier, since I'm notified that a thread has a reply, which doesn't happen with editing a post. So feel free to double-post, as long as it's not excessive. PSOLoad does that with me sometimes. PSUL is more reliable but slower. (By the way, one exclamation mark was sufficient)

fuzziqersoftware- 06-03-2006

It's slower in loading the DOL, but the DOL will always run at the same speed. It's nothing to worry about, even; it usually takes about 3 more seconds than PSOload if you're loading a small DOL file.
