Most likely, your disc is scratched. Sorry, there may be nothing you can do.... try polishing the back of the disc, and make sure there aren't any big scratches.

I got my PSO disc cheap (about $20) on eBay, but the catch was that the disc had been resurfaced. It works 95% of the time, but occasionally, usually when going into provider settings or trying to start an online game, I get that error. Rebooting the GCN seems to fix it most of the time. If you always get this error, then Fuzziqer's right, your disc is most likely damaged.

i just got the disc from ebay, no scratchs, but that doesnt seem to be a problem anymore. thanks guys, but now i have another problem. i have all my shit setup now and when i try to connect(ya know the warped screen), i would get a message that says "(No.018) Connection attempt failed. If you have a broadband adapter. make sure that your network cable is properly connected to the broadband adapter and that the broadband adapter settings are setup properly." now let me give you guys a layout of what i have. my GC and my PC are connected with a cat5e cable, im connected to the internet wirelessly to a router thats connected to the internet. i think i did everything properly, i dragged the gcars.dol file onto PSUL.exe, made sure that everything from the command propmt "ipconfig" matched the network setup... thank you for taking the time to read this and i really appreciate whatever help you guys can give me. thanks.

If you're using a PSO loader, you can't have DHCP enabled. Go to Network Setup and set IP configuration to manual.

Hmmm..... then check your cables. I've only gotten that error when (1) my cables weren't all the way plugged in, or (2) my BBA wasn't all the way in my GameCube.

nothing changed, is it probably because im using wireless internet that i need to configure or am i just typing all the ip info wrong cause i think thats the problem
