SSBM version differences
Hello, I read that to play this game online you need USA v1.0, however is there any difference in compatibility between: DOL-GALE-0-00 JPN and DOL-GALE-0-00 USA I just want to make sure I get the version that is most compatible... Thanks

no there is no difference. Me and psychoticworm, who both have USA, have played with JPN people and it works just fine.

don't look at the "JPN" at the end. that just means where it was made Under my two discs, it says DOL-GALE-0-00 JPN (went to a few gamestops and they had this in their used section, SWEET!) and DOL-GALE-0-02 JPN (the one i usually play, it says Player's Choice on the case) and these are the USA versions. again. don't go by the JPN at the end. DOL-abcd-x-yz a = console bc = gamecode d = region x = disc number (0 = 1, 1 = 2, 2 = 3, etc) yz = version DOL-abcd-x-yz a = G (GameCube) bc = AL (Smash's Gamecode) d = E (USA) x = 0 (Disc 1) yz = 00 (version 1.00) Values for d: D = Deutschland/PAL E = USA/NTSC F = France/SECAM G = Germany/PAL P = Europe/PAL J = Japan/NTSC U = Australia/PAL if you have GALP, then it's Europe and GALJ then it's Japanese and GALE is USA my point: DOL-GALE-0-00 JPN is the same as what he's using to make the game. you're good i wrote a GCM reader to sort my library of GCM files, and all this information in the boot.bin file (image header)
